Pop-ups & Experiences

For the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Homework partnered with lululemon to design Canada House, an immersive pop-up for Team Canada x lululemon. Located in the Cité des Sciences, the structure wraps around the central atrium, embodying the unity and togetherness of the Olympic spirit through a bold design inspired by the iconic maple leaf.

The structure is clad in thousands of custom-made shingles, a nod to traditional Canadian vernacular, each crafted from liability fabric recycled through lululemon’s sustainability partner. This innovative use of materials at Canada House served as both a celebration of Canadian heritage and a showcase of lululemon’s vision for responsible design—bringing people together while leaving a minimal footprint.

The Canada House installation brought lululemon’s environmental and brand values to life on a global stage. Using recycled materials, Homework crafted an immersive and visually striking structure that gave new purpose to waste, embodying the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. More than a pop-up, this design connected deeply with Olympic attendees while resonating with lululemon’s international audience—an inspiring celebration of creativity, responsibility, and global connection.

Technical implementation

Homework played a pivotal role in the technical implementation of Canada House, ensuring every detail was seamlessly executed. This involved meticulous site surveys of the challenging venue to address its unique spatial constraints. We developed precise technical intent drawings that integrated the shingle design, the existing merchandising system, and the overall scheme into a cohesive, well-resolved solution. Each shingle’s size and detailing were carefully refined to balance aesthetic impact with practical assembly, resulting in a clean, innovative design that brought the vision to life.
